Sam Mensah- Why you need to believe in yourself and how failure is learning

Sam Mensah started off in the music industry - playing on stage, talking to major record labels, touring the country, but in the background his parents were running a Ghanaian bakery, Uncle Johns Bakery, that they set up 25 years ago.

It was doing well but Sam believed it could do better. in 2015 he finally took the step and decided to john the family business. But this was not without challenges, sam had to reinvent the business in order for it to reach the goals he set for it which ultimately led the bakery to be stocked in Tesco, Morrisons and he has even bigger plans in the future.

This is such an interesting chat with Sam about his journey. In this interview you will hear how he faces failure, how the people around you influence you, the importance of focusing on one thing and so much more. This really was one of my favourite interviews and really got me fired up. This is such a great listen to please enjoy my interview with Sam from Uncle Johns Bakery.

Below are some of my favourite quotes from the interview.

"When you start to realise who you have around you and the impact they have on your life and what impact they have on their own life's, it starts give you an idea of how you want to lead your life. Sometimes it is reflection of how you want to live your life and sometimes it is how you don't want to live your life"
"Without stepping in to fear you are never going to achieve anything passed it"
"I don't worry about what tomorrow might brings, I focus on what i am doing today, tomorrow will come and I will know I have done everything to prepare for it"
"If you apply yourself, you can achieve what you want, you're in the driver seat"
"You never really loose, you either win or you learn"
"You may loose money, but you will always learn"
"Always speak your truth"
"If you don't take care of yourself it can overwhelm you"
"There is a thin line between being absolutely crazy and realistic and strategic, its about finding that balance"
"Everyone has different ways of learning, everyone has different ways of understanding so the best practice is to communicate as much as possible and give people the chance to show that they're able to do it"
"No doesn't mean never, it just means not now"
"You have to keep going, if you believe in yourself as much as possible you are able to convince other people"
"No one can define your path as much as you"
